初，王鎔令偏將符習以本部兵從帝屯於德勝。 Rong had earlier detached Fu Xi with his own command to serve at Desheng under Cunxu.

文禮既行弑逆，忌鎔故將，多被誅戮，因遣使聞於帝，欲以他兵代習歸鎮，習等懼，請留。 After the murder Wenli purged Rong's veterans and asked Cunxu to swap other troops for Fu Xi's return; Xi and his men, in fear, begged to remain.
