唐末，王仙芝等攻劫汝、潁間，刺史不能拒，敬蕘遂代之，即拜刺史。 Late in Tang, Wang Xianzhi raided between Ru and Ying. The prefect could not hold them off, and Jingrao replaced him and was named prefect on the spot.
