有京兆韋焜為貝州司馬，河東趙達為清河令，二人並苛刻，唯長史有惠政。 Wei Kun of Jingzhao served as Beizhou Assistant Administrator, and Zhao Da of Hedong as Qinghe Magistrate—both were harsh, while only the Chief Clerk showed benevolent governance.

時人為之語曰：「刺史羅刹政，司馬蝮蛇瞋，長史含笑判，清河生吃人。」 People of the day said, "The governor's demon rule, the assistant's viper glare, the chief clerk's smiling verdict, Qinghe's raw man-eating."
