未果，而晉王亦舉兵，茂貞懼，乃殺宰相韋昭度、李磎，留其養子繼鵬以兵二千宿衛而去。 The coup failed, and Jin marched as well. Maozhen, afraid, killed Chancellors Wei Zhaodu and Li Xi, left his adopted son Jipeng with two thousand men as palace guard, and withdrew.
