至正五年，以父文蔭，授萬億四庫照磨，未上，用薦者改國子助教。 In 1345, through his father Wen's inherited privilege, he was appointed reviser of the Treasury of the Ten Thousand Myriads but did not take up the post. On recommendation he was appointed assistant instructor at the Imperial University instead.
