八年，上遣諧之率禁兵討巴東王子響於江陵，兼長史行事。 In the eighth year the emperor sent Xiezhi to lead the palace guard against Prince Zixiang of Badong at Jiangling, concurrently acting Senior Clerk in charge of affairs.

臺軍爲子響所敗，有司奏免官，權行軍事如故。 The imperial army was defeated by Zixiang; the authorities memorialized for his dismissal, but he was allowed to conduct military affairs provisionally as before.
