臣願招延儒臣若許衡者數人，置於禁密，常以唐、虞、三代之道，啟沃宸衷，日新其德，實萬世無疆之福也。」 I beg that several Confucian scholars of Xu Heng's stature be summoned to serve within the inner palace, there to instruct Your Majesty continually in the ways of Tang, Yu, and the Three Dynasties, renewing Your virtue day by day. That would be a blessing without limit for ten thousand generations."

又言：「隱士劉因，道學經術可比許文正公衡，從祀孔子廟庭。」 He also urged: "The recluse Liu Yin, whose mastery of the Way and classical learning rivaled that of Duke of Culture Xu Heng, should be granted accompanying sacrifice in the temple of Confucius."
