晉初，從侯益收汜水關，佐楊光遠平鄴都，累遷奉國第一軍都虞候。 Early in the Jin period he followed Hou Yi in recovering Sishui Pass and assisted Yang Guangyuan in pacifying the Ye capital. He rose steadily to chief adjutant of the first Fengguo army.
