己巳，楊善至瓦剌，也先許上皇歸。 On jisi Yang Shan reached the Oirat camp; Esen agreed to send the Retired Emperor home.

八月癸酉，上皇發瓦剌。 In the eighth month, on guiyou, the Retired Emperor left the Oirat lands.

甲申，遣侍讀商輅迎上皇於居庸關。 On jiashen Lecturing Reader Shang Lu was sent to welcome the Retired Emperor at Juyong Pass.

丙戌，上皇還京師，帝迎於東安門，入居南宮，帝帥百官朝謁。 On bingxu the Retired Emperor came back to the capital; the Emperor met him at the Eastern Peace Gate and installed him in the Southern Palace, then led the whole bureaucracy in audience.

十一月辛亥，禮部尚書胡濙請令百官賀上皇萬壽節。 In the eleventh month, on xinhai, Minister of Rites Hu Ying asked that all officials observe the Retired Emperor's longevity festival.

十二月丙申，復請明年正旦百官朝上皇於延安門。 In the twelfth month, on bingshen, he again asked that at next New Year's the officials attend the Retired Emperor at the Yan'an Gate.
