乾祐初，授鎮州副使，過鄴城，高行周接之甚歡，鵬因言及晉朝傾亡之事，少帝任用失人，藩輔之臣，惟務積財富家，不以國家為意，以至宗社泯滅，非獨帝王之咎也。 Early in Qianyou he was made deputy commissioner of Zhenzhou. Passing through Yecheng he was warmly received by Gao Xingzhou, and Peng spoke of the fall of Jin: the Young Emperor had chosen the wrong men; frontier ministers cared only to enrich their families and not the state, until the dynasty was destroyed—a failure not of the emperor alone.
