有賈明觀者，素事魚朝恩，朝恩誅，當坐死，宰相元載納其賂，遣效力江西，將行，居民數萬懷瓦石候擊，載諭市吏禁止，乃得去。 Jia Mingguan had long served the eunuch Yu Chaoen. When Chaoen was executed Jia deserved death, but Chancellor Yuan Zai took his bribe and sent him to serve in Jiangxi. As he was about to leave, tens of thousands of townspeople gathered with stones to kill him; only when Zai ordered the market officers to restrain them could he depart.
