李全忠之攻易、定也，別將于晏圍易州，累月不能拔，仁恭穴地道以陷之，軍中號曰「劉窟頭」，稍遷裨校。 When Li Quanzhong attacked Yi and Ding, the subordinate general Yu Yan besieged Yizhou for months without success. Rengong undermined the walls by tunnel and was nicknamed "Liu Tunnel-Head" in the army; he was eventually promoted to assistant commander.
