及尉迥作亂，以弘度為行軍總管，從韋孝寬討之。 When Yuchi Jiong rebelled, Hongdu served as Campaign Commander under Wei Xiaokuan.

弘度妹先適迥子為妻，及破鄴城，迥窘迫升樓，弘度直上龍尾追之。 Hongdu's sister had married Chong's son; when Yecheng fell Chong fled up a tower in distress, and Hongdu climbed the Dragon Tail ramp in pursuit.

迥彎弓將射弘度，弘度脫兜鍪謂迥曰：「相識不？ Chong drew his bow to shoot Hongdu; Hongdu removed his helmet and said, "Do you know who I am?

迥擲弓於地，罵大丞相極口而自殺。 Chong threw down his bow, cursed the Grand Chancellor bitterly, and killed himself.

弘度顧其弟弘升曰：「汝可取迥頭。」 Hongdu told his brother Hongsheng, "Take Chong's head."

時行軍總管例封國公，弘度不時殺迥，致縱惡言，由是降爵一等，為武鄉郡公。 Campaign commanders were normally enfeoffed as state dukes, but because Hongdu had not killed Chong promptly and allowed slander to spread, his rank was reduced one grade to Duke of Wuxiang.
