七月還，從擊燕王臧荼，臧荼降。 In the seventh month he returned and joined the campaign against Zang Tu, the King of Yan. Zang Tu surrendered.

及虜臧荼，乃下詔諸將相列侯，擇群臣有功者以為燕王。 After Zang Tu's capture, the Emperor issued a decree to his generals, ministers, and marquises, directing them to select a meritorious minister to serve as King of Yan.

張勝至胡，故燕王臧茶子衍出亡在胡，見張勝曰：「公所以重於燕者，以習胡事也。 When Zhang Sheng reached the Xiongnu lands, Yan, the son of the former King of Yan Zang Tu, who had fled and was living among the Xiongnu, met him and said: 'The reason you are valued in Yan is that you understand the affairs of the northern peoples.
