中原大定，曾國籓乃議以湖南兵力、餉力為平黔根本，而駱秉章亦令劉岳昭剿黔北以保川邊。 Once the central plains were largely pacified, Zeng Guofan proposed that Hunan's troops and funds be the foundation for pacifying Guizhou, while Luo Bingzhang ordered Liu Yuezhao to clear northern Guizhou and secure the Sichuan border.
