正德三年以尼山、洙泗二書院及鄒縣子思子廟各有禮事，奏請弟聞禮主之。 In Zhengde 3, noting that the Ni Mountain and Zhu-Si academies and the Zisi temple at Zou County each required ritual oversight, he asked that his younger brother Wenli be put in charge.

帝授聞禮《五經》博士，主子思子祀事，世以衍聖公弟為之。 The emperor made Wenli Doctor of the Five Classics to oversee sacrifices to Zisi; thereafter the duke's younger brother held the post by hereditary custom.
