子寶晊嗣，爲持節、督湘州軍事、輔國將軍、湘州刺史。 His son Baozhi succeeded and was made Bearer of the Staff, commander of military affairs in Xiang Province, General Who Assists the State, and Governor of Xiang Province.

二年，寶晊進號冠軍將軍。 In the second year Baozhi was promoted to General Who Vanquishes the Foe.

永元元年，以安陸郡邊虜，寶晊改封湘東王。 In the first year of Yongyuan, because Anlu Commandery bordered barbarian raiders, Baozhi was redesignated Prince of Xiangdong.

高宗兄弟一門皆尚吏事，寶晊粗好文章。 Throughout Xiao Luan's house his brothers all valued administrative work; Baozhi had a rough liking for literary composition.

義師下，寶晊在城內，東昏廢，寶晊望物情歸己，坐待法駕，旣而城內送首詣梁王。 When the army of righteousness marched south, Baozhi was inside the city; after the Marquis of Donghun was deposed, Baozhi hoped popular sentiment would turn to him and sat waiting for the imperial carriage; soon afterward the city sent a head to the Prince of Liang.

宣德太后臨朝，以寶晊爲太常。 When the Empress Dowager of Xuande presided over the court, Baozhi was made Minister of Ceremonies.

寶晊不自安，謀反，兄弟皆伏誅。 Baozhi, ill at ease, plotted rebellion; he and his brothers were all executed.

安陸王寶晊爲湘州，以繪爲冠軍長史、長沙內史，行湘州事，將軍如故。 When the Prince of Anlu, Bao Ye, took up the governorship of Xiang province, he appointed Hui chief clerk of the army who establishes might and interior governor of Changsha, with charge of Xiangzhou affairs, retaining his general's title.

寶晊愛其侍婢，繪奪取，具以啟聞，寶晊以爲恨，與繪不協。 Bao Ye loved a serving maid; Hui took her away and reported the matter fully to the throne; Bao Ye resented this and fell out with Hui.
