耶律勃古哲蕭陽阿武白蕭常哥耶律虎古 Yelu Boguzhe, Xiao Yanga, Wu Bai, Xiao Changge, and Yelu Hugu

耶律勃古哲，字蒲奴隱，六院夷離堇蒲古只之後。 Yelu Boguzhe, whose style name was Punuyin, was a descendant of Puguzhi, Chancellery Commissioner of the Six Yuan.

聖宗即位，太后稱制，會群臣議軍國事，勃古哲上疏陳便宜數事，稱旨，即日兼領山西路諸州事。 When Emperor Shengzong succeeded and the empress dowager assumed regency, ministers met to deliberate on military and state affairs. Boguzhe submitted a memorial with several expedient proposals; it pleased the throne, and that same day he was given concurrent charge of the western-circuit prefectures of Shanxi.

統和四年，宋將曹彬等侵燕，勃古哲擊之甚力，賜輸忠保節致主功臣，總知山西五州。 In the fourth year of Tonghe, when Song generals led by Cao Bin invaded Yan, Boguzhe struck them hard. He received the merit title of Loyal Submission, Integrity Preservation, and Sovereign Service and was given overall charge of the five Shanxi prefectures.

會有告勃古哲曲法虐民者，按之有狀，以大杖決之。 When someone reported that Boguzhe had bent the law and abused the people, investigation found grounds, and he was beaten with the great staff.

若勃古之忠，陽阿之孝，武白之直，亦彬彬乎一代之良臣矣。 As for Bogu's loyalty, Yanga's filial devotion, and Wu Bai's integrity—they too stand among the finest ministers of their generation.
