祿山反，使蔡希德封刀召之，曰：「即不起，斷其頭見我。」 When Lushan rebelled he sent Cai Xide with a sealed blade to summon him, saying: "If you still refuse to come, cut off his head and bring it to me."

使者持刀趨前，濟引頸待之，希德歔欷嗟嘆，止刀，以實病告。 The envoy rushed forward with his blade; Ji stretched out his neck to receive it. Xide sighed and wept, lowered the blade, and reported that Ji was truly ill.
