曹克忠，直隸天津人。 Cao Kezhong came from Tianjin in Zhili.

咸豐十年，令募五百人為忠字營，大破援賊於潛山、太湖，洊擢參將，賜號悍勇巴圖魯。 In the tenth year of Xianfeng he was ordered to raise five hundred men for the Zhongzi Battalion. He inflicted a crushing defeat on relieving rebels at Qianshan and Taihu, was promoted in succession to regimental commander, and was granted the title Hanyong Baturu.
