吳明徹至臨川，令眾軍作連城攻迪，相拒不能剋，世祖乃遣高宗總督討之，迪眾潰，妻子悉擒，乃脫身踰嶺之晉安，依于陳寶應。 Wu Mingche reached Linchuan and ordered linked siegeworks against Di; they faced each other without victory; Emperor Wen then sent Emperor Gaozong to command the campaign overall; Di's men collapsed, wife and children all taken; he alone fled over the ranges to Jin'an and clung to Chen Baoying.

寶應以兵資迪，留異又遣第二子忠臣隨之。 Baoying armed Di with troops and stores; Liu Yi also sent his second son Zhongchen to follow.

昭達仍度嶺，頓于建安，與陳寶應相抗，迪復收合出東興。 Zhaoda crossed the pass and camped at Jian'an against Chen Baoying; Di gathered men again and came out at Dongxing.
