十月，攻捻於汝寧，破平輿寨，生擒賊酋陳文，詔以總兵記名。 In the tenth month he fought the Nian at Runing, stormed Pingyu Stockade, took the rebel chief Chen Wen alive, and was entered on the rolls as regional commander (zongbing).
