秦府學士、給事中玄道玄孫，秘書監、贈吏部尚書成裕之子。 He was the great-great-grandson of Xuandao, who had served as a scholar in the Prince of Qin's household and as a supervising remonstrator, and was the son of Chengyu, Director of the Secretariat, who was posthumously made Minister of Personnel.
