成宗即位，封高唐王。 When Chengzong ascended the throne he was enfeoffed as King of Gaotang.

西北不安，請於帝，願往平之，再三請，帝乃許。 When the northwest grew unsettled he petitioned the emperor to pacify it. After repeated requests the emperor consented.

敵誘使降，惟正言不屈，又欲以女妻之，闊裏吉思毅然曰：「我帝婿也，非帝後面命，而再娶可乎！」 The enemy urged him to surrender, but he steadfastly refused. When they offered him a daughter in marriage he declared firmly, "I am the emperor's son-in-law—how could I marry again without his express command!"

帝嘗遣其家臣阿昔思特使敵境，見於人眾中，闊裏吉思一見輒問兩宮安否，次問嗣子何如，言未畢，左右即引其去。 The emperor once sent his household retainer Axisi as special envoy to the enemy territory. Spotted in the crowd, Kuolijisi immediately asked whether the two palaces were well and then how his heir was. Before he could finish speaking, attendants pulled Axisi away.
