憲時年十四，被召為國子正言生，謁祭酒到溉，溉目而送之，愛其神彩。 Xian was fourteen when he was made a Correct Sayings student at the National University. He visited libationer Dao Gai, who watched him leave and admired his bearing.

到溉顧憲曰：「袁君正其有後矣。」 Dao Gai looked at Xian and said, "Yuan Junzheng will have worthy descendants."

及君正將之吳郡，溉祖道於征虜亭，謂君正曰：「昨策生蕭敏孫、徐孝克，非不解義，至於風神器局，去賢子遠矣。」 When Junzheng was leaving for Wu commandery, Gai saw him off at the Campaign-Slayer Pavilion and said, "Yesterday's candidates Xiao Minsun and Xu Xiaoke know their texts, but in spirit and bearing they are far below your son."

溉據南史改。 On "Gai": emended per the Southern History.

梁書到溉傳云溉以建安內史遷中書郎兼吏部。 The Book of Liang biography of Dao Gai says he moved from interior minister of Jian'an to secretariat gentleman, concurrently minister of personnel.

是「到仲舉」明為「到溉」之訛。 Thus "Dao Zhongju" is plainly an error for "Dao Gai."
