Suanzao: in the Zuo Tradition, Taishu of Zheng reached Linyan; Du Yu places Yanjin north of the county. In Duke Xiang 5, a meeting was held at Chengdi; Du Yu places Di city southwest of the county. East of the county was Wuchao, where Lord Cao defeated Yuan Shao. The Chenliu zhi says, “Inside the city were the old palace gates of the Han kings.”
Puyang was old Kunwu territory; Du Yu identifies it with ancient Wey. The Diwang shiji says, “Zhuanxu moved from Qiongsang to Shangqiu,” and the Zuo Tradition says, “Wey was the ruins of Zhuanxu.” Du Yu explains that this was Diqiu, from which the Kunwu clan derived, hence the name “ruins of Kunwu”; Zhuanxu's tomb stood inside the county city. The Huanglan says, “The tomb was in Guangyang ward outside the city gate,” and the Bowu ji adds, “Sangzhong was within it.” In Spring and Autumn times the place was called Pu.
Dong’e: in Duke Huan 10 of the Zuo Tradition, a meeting was held at Taoqiu; Du Yu places Tao city southeast of the county. In Duke Xiang 14, Sun Linfu defeated the Marquis of Wei at Aze; Du Yu identifies this with the great marsh southwest of the county. The Wei zhi records Mount Quqiu. Dong’e had Qing Pavilion, the place meant when the Zuo Tradition says in Duke Yin 4, “They met at Qing.”
