康叔以祖考顯，而伯禽以周公立，咸為建國諸侯，以相傅為輔。 Kang Shu rose to prominence through his forebears, while Bo Qin was established by the Duke of Zhou; both became feudal lords of established states, serving as supports and pillars of the dynasty.

周公祭天命郊，故魯有白牡、騂剛之牲。 The Duke of Zhou performed the sacrifice to Heaven at the suburban altar, and for this reason the state of Lu was granted the privilege of using white bulls and red sacrificial animals.
