理宗四十年間，屢有意乎禮文之事，雖曰崇尚理學，所謂「禮雲禮雲，玉帛雲乎哉」，蓋可三歎。 During Emperor Lizong's forty-year reign there were repeated gestures toward ritual reform; although Neo-Confucian learning was honored, as the saying has it, 'Ritual, ritual—is it only jade and silk?' One can only sigh at the gap between aspiration and practice.
