自晉少帝與契丹絕好，邊州困於轉輸，逋民往往依方諫，推以為帥。 After the Jin emperor Shaodi broke with the Khitan, border prefectures groaned under supply burdens, and fugitives often rallied to Fangjian and made him their leader.
