太祖即位，以韓令坤代為侍衛都指揮使，加重進中書令。
When the founder succeeded, he replaced Chongjin as commander of the Palace Guard with Han Lingkun and made Chongjin Director of the Secretariat.
重進與太祖俱事周室，分掌兵柄，常心憚太祖。
Chongjin and the founder had both served the Zhou house and shared military power; he had always stood in awe of the founder.
太祖立，愈不自安，及聞移鎮，陰懷異志。
Once the founder took the throne, Chongjin grew still more uneasy; when he heard of the transfer of command, he secretly harbored disloyal intent.
太祖知之，遣六宅使陳思誨齎賜鐵券，以安其心。
The founder learned of this and sent Six Residences commissioner Chen Sihui bearing an iron certificate of mercy to reassure him.

Again thinking himself a close kinsman of the Zhou house and fearing he would not be spared, he detained Sihui, repaired walls and moats, prepared arms and armor, and sent envoys to seek aid from Li Jing. Li Jing was afraid and would not receive them, and word reached the founder.
太祖遣石守信、王審琦、李處耘、宋偓四將率禁兵討重進。
The founder sent Shi Shouxin, Wang Shenqi, Li Chuyun, and Song Wo with palace troops to suppress Chongjin.
太祖謂左右曰：“朕於周室舊臣無所猜間，重進不體朕心，自懷反側，今六師在野，當暫往慰撫之爾。”
The founder told his attendants, "I suspect none of Zhou's old ministers. Chongjin has failed to read my intentions and turned rebellious. With the armies already in the field, I should go myself to reassure him."
太祖徑至城下，即日拔之。
The founder rode straight to the walls and took the city the same day.
