高祖輔政，羽請歸老，求傳郡于寶應，高祖許之。 When Gaozu was regent, Yu asked to retire because of age and to pass the commandery to Baoying; Gaozu allowed it.

高祖受禪，授持節、散騎常侍、信武將軍、閩州刺史，領會稽太守。 When Gaozu accepted the abdication, Baoying was appointed Bearer of the Staff, Cavalier Attendant, General of Trustworthy Valor, and inspector of Minzhou, while also serving as administrator of Kuaiji.
