孝文帝時，淮南厲王殺辟陽侯，以諸呂故。 In Emperor Xiaowen's reign, King Li of Huainan killed the Marquis of Biyang because of the latter's connection to the Lu clansmen.

文帝聞其客平原君為計策，使吏捕欲治。 Emperor Wen heard that his retainer, the Lord of Pingyuan, had devised the plot, and sent officials to arrest him for prosecution.

孝文帝聞而惜之，曰：「吾無意殺之。」 The Xiaowen Emperor heard and pitied him, saying: 'I had no intention of killing him.'

乃召其子，拜為中大夫。 The Emperor summoned his son and appointed him as a Palace Grandee.
