有司請以生辰為永壽節，皇太后生辰為應聖節，從之。 The relevant offices requested making the Emperor's birthday the Eternal Longevity Festival and the Empress Dowager's birthday the Responding Sage Festival; approval was granted.

問安皇太后。 The Emperor paid respects to the Empress Dowager.

皇太后聽政，帝不親庶務，群臣表請，不從。 The Empress Dowager held court; the Emperor did not personally handle routine affairs; ministers memorialized requesting that he do so, but he did not agree.

重熙元年春正月壬申朔，皇太后禦正殿，受帝與群臣朝。 In the first year of Chongxi, on the renshen new moon of the first spring month the Empress Dowager held court at the main hall and received obeisance from the Emperor and ministers.

是春，皇太后誣齊天皇后以罪，遣人即上京行弒。 That spring the Empress Dowager falsely charged Empress Qi Tian with crimes and dispatched people to assassinate her at the Upper Capital.

十一月己卯，帝率群臣上皇太后尊號曰法天應運仁德章聖皇太后； On jimao day of the eleventh month the Emperor led ministers in presenting to the Empress Dowager the honorific title Responding to Heaven, Following the Mandate, Benevolent and Virtuous, Manifest Sage Empress Dowager;
