及慕容寶敗，國亂，湖率衆歸魏，為右將軍。 When Murong Bao suffered defeat and the state collapsed into disorder, Hu brought his band over to the Northern Wei and was appointed Right General.

湖生四子，第三子謐，仕魏，位至侍御史，坐法徙居懷朔鎮。 Hu had four sons. The third, Mi, served the Wei court and rose to Attending Censor, but after a legal infraction was banished to live at Huaishuo garrison.
