時中書侍郎高允參丕軍事，諫曰：「今若誅之，是傷其向化之心，恐大軍一還，為亂必速。」 At the time Secretariat Attendant Gao Yun was participating in Pi's military affairs. He remonstrated, "If we execute them now, this will wound their will to submit to transformation. I fear that once the great army returns, rebellion will come quickly."

丕之薨及日者董道秀之死也，高允遂著筮論曰：「昔明元末起白臺，其高二十餘丈，樂平王嘗夢登其上，四望無所見。 When Prince Pi died and the diviner Dong Daoxiu was put to death, Gao Yun wrote a treatise on divination, saying: "Near the end of Emperor Mingyuan's reign a White Terrace was built, more than twenty zhang tall. The Prince of Leping once dreamed that he climbed it and gazed in every direction, yet saw nothing at all.

國史自鄧淵、崔琛、崔浩、高允、李彪、崔光以還，諸人相繼撰錄，綦儁及偉等諂說上黨王天穆及尒朱世隆，以為國書正應代人修緝，不宜委之餘人，是以儁、偉等更主大籍。 Since Deng Yuan, Cui Chen, Cui Hao, Gao Yun, Li Biao, and Cui Guang, the national history had been compiled in turn by successive scholars; Qi Jun, Wei, and others flattered Shangdang Prince Tianmu and Erzhu Shilong, arguing that the state annals ought to be edited by men of Dai and not entrusted to outsiders—so Jun, Wei, and their circle again took charge of the great registers.

始魏初鄧淵撰代記十餘卷，其後崔浩典史，游雅、高允、程駿、李彪、崔光、李琰之世修其業。 At the founding of Wei, Deng Yuan compiled the Annals of the Dynasty in more than ten scrolls. Later Cui Hao directed the historiography, and You Ya, Gao Yun, Cheng Jun, Li Biao, Cui Guang, and Li Yanzhi carried on the tradition through successive generations.
