初歸葛榮，授京兆王，時年十九。 At first he joined Ge Rong and was made Prince of Jingzhao — he was nineteen.

榮敗，隨尒朱榮，為別將討元顥，以功封敷城縣男。 When Rong was defeated he followed Erzhu Rong, served as a separate commander against Yuan Hao, and for merit was enfeoffed baron of Fucheng County.
