論曰：吳起與田文論功，文不及者三，朱買臣難公孫弘十策，弘不得其一，終之田文相魏，公孫宰漢，誠知宰相自有體也。 The historian remarks: Wu Qi disputed merit with Tian Wen and surpassed him in three ways; Zhu Maichen posed ten challenges to Gongsun Hong that Hong could not meet—yet Tian Wen became chief minister of Wei and Gongsun governed Han. Chancellorship is a different art altogether.
