會楚王英謀反，陰氏欲中傷之，使人私之楚謀告延，延以英藩戚至親，不然其言，又欲辟幽州從事公孫弘，以弘交通楚王而止，並不奏聞。 When Liu Ying, king of Chu, plotted revolt, the Yins tried to entrap Yu Yan by secretly passing him word of the plot. Yan would not believe it—Ying was too close in blood to the throne—and he dropped a summons for Youzhou staffer Gongsun Hong when he learned Hong was in contact with the prince. He reported nothing to the court.
