祖明里也赤哥，嘗隸太祖帳下。 His grandfather Mingliye Chige had once served in the Great Ancestor's retinue.

初，怯列王可罕與太祖為鄰國，誓相親好，既而敗盟，與其子先髡潛謀，欲襲太祖，因遣使通問，許以女妻太祖弟合撒兒。 At first the Kereyid khan was the Great Ancestor's neighbor and ally by oath. Later he broke faith and secretly plotted with his son Senggum to ambush the Great Ancestor, sending envoys to propose marriage between his daughter and the Great Ancestor's brother Qasar.

至期，太祖欲往，明里也赤哥疑其詐，諫止之。 When the day came the Great Ancestor meant to go, but Mingliye Chige suspected a trap and persuaded him not to.

王可罕知謀泄，遂謀入寇，後為太祖所滅。 When the khan learned the plot had been exposed he prepared to invade, but in the end the Great Ancestor destroyed him.

父脫倫闍里必，扈從太祖征西域，累立奇功。 His father Tolun Jarlibi followed the Great Ancestor on the western campaigns and won repeated distinction.
