開寶二年春，太祖詔李繼勳、趙讚、郭進、司超等將兵先赴太原，太祖遂親征。 In the spring of Kaibao 2, Taizu ordered Li Jixun, Zhao Zan, Guo Jin, Si Chao, and others to march on Taiyuan ahead of him, then set out on campaign himself.

又遣郭進入忻代路，郝崇信、王政忠入汾州路，閻彥進、齊超入沁州路，孫晏宣、安守忠入遼州路，齊延琛、穆彥璋入石州路。 He also sent Guo Jin along the Xin-Dai route; Hao Chongxin and Wang Zhengzhong along the Fenzhou route; Yan Yanjin and Qi Chao along the Qinzhou route; Sun Yanxuan and An Shouzhong along the Liaozhou route; and Qi Yanchen and Mu Yanzhang along the Shizhou route.

郭進得山北民三萬七千餘。 Guo Jin brought in more than thirty-seven thousand people from north of the mountains.

郭進又破壽陽，得民九千。 Guo Jin also took Shouyang and brought in nine thousand people.
