常青不能用，遣朝雄還台灣，佐海壇鎮總兵郝壯猷討爽文。 Chang Qing would not heed him and sent Chaoxiong back to Taiwan to serve under Haizhen garrison commander Hao Zhuangyou against Shuangwen.

五十二年春，壯猷偕朝雄率兵二千餘擊賊，馘三百，俘二十五。 In the spring of Qianlong 52 Zhuangyou and Chaoxiong led a little over two thousand men against the rebels, taking three hundred heads and twenty-five prisoners.
