十年正月，際昌偕金國琛由間道出高橫嶺，與諸軍夾擊，大破之，遂復太湖，乘勝會攻克潛山，擢副將，署湖北督標中軍副將。 In the first month of 1860, Jichang and Jin Guochen stole over Mount Gaohheng by a hidden route, struck the rebels with converging forces, and won a crushing victory; Taihu was recovered, Qianshan fell in the same advance, and Jichang was made deputy commander and acting deputy commander of the Hubei governor's central battalion.
