敬翔自殺。 Jing Xiang took his own life.

翔為梁臣，梁所以亡唐，翔之謀為多。 Xiang was a Liang minister, and much of Liang’s destruction of Tang came from his planning.

梁之亡也，翔雖死之，不書「死」而書「自殺」，死，大節也，見不輕予人也。 When Liang fell, even though Xiang died for it, the text says “committed suicide” rather than “died”; death in loyalty is a great moral distinction, and the wording shows that it is not lightly bestowed.
