父俺伯，以忠勤事世祖，為知樞密院事。 His father Anbo had served Kublai Khan with loyal diligence and held the post of Controller of the Bureau of Military Affairs.

辭曰：「吾大父事世祖，以通經號廉孟子。 He declined, saying, 'My great-grandfather served Kublai Khan and was known as Master Lian the Mencius for his mastery of the classics.
