俄聞李穀攻壽春不克，退保正陽，促重進兵助之。 Soon word came that Li Gu had failed at Shouchun and fallen back on Zhengyang; Chongjin was ordered to hurry to his aid.

吳人以穀退為懼，乃發兵三萬餘，旌旗輜重亙數百里； The Wu, emboldened by Gu's retreat, marched out more than thirty thousand men, their banners and baggage trains stretching for hundreds of li;

世宗大悅，詔書褒諭，即以重進代穀為行營招討使，賜襲衣、金帶、玉鞍、名馬。 Shizong was delighted. An edict praised the victory and replaced Gu with Chongjin as pacification commissioner of the field army, granting him a ceremonial robe, gold belt, jade saddle, and fine horses.
