頃者長安令李濟得罪因奴，萬年令霍晏得罪因婢，愚賤之輩，悖慢成風，主反畏之，動遭誣告，充溢府縣，莫能斷決。 Recently Chang'an magistrate Li Ji and Wannian magistrate Huo Yan both fell afoul of the law because of slaves and maids. Among the foolish and base, insolence became the fashion; masters instead feared their servants and were constantly subjected to false accusations. Cases overflowed the prefectures and counties, and none could be resolved.
