出為豐州刺史，在州貪縱，百姓怨酷，後主以太僕卿李暈代之。 Sent out as inspector of Feng prefecture, he ruled with greed and license until the people bitterly resented him; the Later Lord replaced him with Li Yun, grand master of the imperial stud.

至德三年四月，暈將到州，大寶乃襲殺暈，舉兵反，遣其將楊通寇建安。 In the fourth month of Zhide year three, as Yun was nearing the prefecture, Dabao ambushed and killed him, rebelled, and sent his general Yang Tong against Jian'an.
