及聞李光顏拔淩雲柵，始大懼，遣使歸順，帝重分兵支兩寇，故命給事中柳公綽慰撫之，加檢校司空。 When Li Guangyan captured the Lingyun stockade, Shidao was thoroughly alarmed and sent envoys to surrender; the emperor, stretched between two fronts, dispatched Liu Gongchuo to reassure him and named him acting Minister of Works.
