遠祖怦，唐盧龍節度使。 His distant ancestor Liu Peng had served as Tang military commissioner of Lulong.

初，南苑有唐舊碑，書「貞元十年御史大夫劉怦葬」。 Earlier a Tang stele in the Southern Park read: "Burial of Censor-in-Chief Liu Peng, Zhenyuan year 10."

頍家本怦後，詔賜頍錢三百貫改葬之。 Yi's family were descendants of Liu Peng, and the court granted Yi three hundred strings of cash to move the grave.

四世祖怦，即朱滔之甥，唐右僕射、盧龍軍節度使。 His fourth-generation ancestor Bing was Zhu Tao's nephew and had served the Tang as Right Vice Director of the Department of State Affairs and military commissioner of Lulong.
