臨川王義慶鎮江陵，為平西中兵參軍、河東太守。 When Prince of Linchuan Liu Yiqing held Jiangling, Tian served as central army aide on the pacify-the-west staff and administrator of Hedong.

衡陽王義季代義慶，又度安西府，加寧朔將軍。 When Prince of Hengyang Liu Yiji replaced Yiqing, Tian was transferred to the pacify-the-west headquarters and made General Who Pacifies the North.
